Bio

Damla Işık studied Psychology (B.A) in Bilkent University and completed her MSc degree (in Developmental Psychology) in University of Dundee. During her postgraduate studies she worked as an intern in a kindergarten in Glentrothes, Scotland. She worked with 3 to 5 years olds and with their parents on social-emotional and language development. In 2013, she started working in Private TED Ankara College Foundation as a psychological counsellor. She worked with 6 to 9 year old children and with their parents on Anxiety, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Life Changes (divorce, changing cities, bereavement), School Adaptation, Peer Relationships and Bullying, Intervention Programs about abuse and addiction, Time Management, Parenting Techniques etc. At the same time, she completed her Marriage and Family Counselling degree from Ankara University, Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy Techniques from CBT Association in Ankara, Child Centered Play Therapy accredited by Rise Van Fleet. The other programs she was attended are Schema Therapy, CBT in Children and Adolescents (plus Supervision), Schema Therapy with Children and Adolescents, Motivational Techniques in Substance Abuse, Treatment of Somatic Symptoms, CBT in Eating Disorders, Suicide Intervention etc. After she worked 6.5 years in TED Ankara College, she started working as a therapist with psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Selçuk Aslan. She also works with obesity surgeon Prof. Dr. Oktay Banlı and teaches part time  in Psychology Department in Bilkent University.
